Meet Rodeo Hero, Richard Candeloro

Richard Candeloro (Bubba) to his sisters, was born on October 30, 1951, and raised in Tyler, Texas. He has two sisters, a brother-in-law, and three nieces and nephews who adore him.
He has always enjoyed playing baseball and is a devoted fan of the New York Yankees and he likes the Dallas Cowboys. As a child, he loved the Soap Box Derby, competing with the support of his dad, cousin, and uncle. Richard has always been full of energy, enjoying outdoor activities, especially walking.
His love for music and singing is unmatched, with Johnny Cash being his favorite artist. "Folsom Prison Blues" is his all-time favorite song. He enjoys karaoke and even hosts karaoke nights on his home.
Recently, Richard has taken up fishing in his free time at the Woodland Retreat at Lufkin State Supported Living Center. He works on campus and looks forward to payday each Friday so he can enjoy his favorite Hamburger Basket.
Richard has lived at Lufkin State Supported Living Center for over 30 years. He has a tender heart, an infectious smile, and a radiant love that touches everyone he meets.
