2023 ABR Queen Kylie Ridings
Kylie Ridings is the 18-year-old daughter of Josh and Mary Ridings and a senior at Lufkin High School.
Kylie has been an active member of 4-H Horse Club for 8 years. Currently serving the club as President. She has been an Angelina County Fair Ambassador throughout high school. Kylie participated in the 4-H GLOBE program that focused on poverty locally and globally. She showed pigs at the Angelina County Fair for 4 years. Kylie received the Angelina County Gold Star award in 2021.
Kylie will be graduating in May from Lufkin High School with honors. She is a 2023 Panthers of Prestige and a National Honors Society Scholar Semi-Finalist. Kylie was a 4-year varsity starter for Lady Pack Soccer, serving as a team captain for 3 years. She also ran for the varsity Cross Country team for 3 years. Kylie is also active in Fellowship for Christian Athletes, Students for Christ, IGNITE, and KYSSED at LHS. She was a member of 2021-2022 Leadership Tomorrow Class and is 2022-2023 Drug Free All-Star. Kylie volunteers with youth soccer through City of Lufkin Parks and Recreation.
Kylie is a member of Harmony Hill Baptist Church, where she is very active in the youth group. At Harmony Hill, she is a Barnabas Team member, Dot group leader mentoring 7th grade girls, a VBS and children ministry volunteer. Kylie will be going on a mission trip this summer before heading off to college.
Kylie will be attending Montreat College in Black Mountain, North Carolina this Fall.
She will be playing collegiate soccer and majoring in Pre-Veterinary Studies. Kylie plans to attend Veterinary School and have her own practice. She plans to be involved with Christian Veterinary Missions. CVM sends teams of veterinarians to areas where the main source of income is livestock, and the teams treat the animals. While on the trips the teams not only serve the people and animals physically, but also spiritually as they work to spread the gospel.
Kylie first attended the Angelina Benefit Rodeo at 2 years old. She is truly honored to represent Angelina County as this year’s Rodeo Queen after admiring the previous ABR queen’s since she was a toddler.
