Hello, my name is Jenna Hathorn. I am a fourth generation rancher, breeder and horse trainer. Thanks to God and family, I have been fortunate enough to be able to achieve my goals and become successful in a career of my choosing. I give all the glory to God for my early success and the gift He has blessed me with to read and bond with horses. Outside of horses, I am very active in my church. I love all things community! My sister and I have had the privilege of leading the Wells Homecoming Parade for 12 years. I love participating in the Lufkin color run, volunteering at nursing homes and pregnancy help centers. I believe my greatest calling is to witness to others by living a life that honors and glorifies Jesus, my Savior.
At the young age of 4 years old, I began competing in local 4H shows. At age 8, I progressed from the local level to the national level and began showing in the American Quarter Horse Association, the American Paint Horse Association and the Palomino Horse Association. In 2017 I was blessed with the opportunity to compete and win a World Championship title.
I have been buying, breaking and training horses for the last 10 years and have successfully started over 80 horses to further build my reputation. After I graduate in May, I plan to continue training horses, and become certified to do equine chiropractic therapy with injured horses. Due to my interaction with troubled, unbroken horses and their owners, I have learned patience, compassion, and how to be able to read horses and ultimately gain their trust. I love every part of my job ... the horses, the people, and the way of life.
In my opinion, the old cowboy way of life is slowly becoming extinct. I have witnessed first hand the challenges and hardships that come with ranching, but the rewards far outweigh the downfalls. I have the drive and determination to work hard every day and to pursue this dream of mine. I have a burning passion to contribute to the old cowboy way and my passion is stronger than my fears. I feel God has provided me with this gift and I want to do my best to help people learn about horses and develop self-esteem and confidence.
Being selected rodeo queen would be another dream come true for me. The Angelina Benefit Rodeo is a tradition for our family and it would be an honor to promote this organization Hello, my name is Jenna Hathorn.
