Rodeo Hero 2024

Meet Rodeo Hero, Nicole Guest

Nicole Guest is very excited to represent the Lufkin State Supported Living Center as the 2024 Rodeo Hero.  Currently she attends school at Central ISD and will turn 18 in August.  She is becoming more independent and works after school.  Some of her on campus job activities include packaging bolts, painting, and staining woodwork.  She has also worked off campus with a crew that provides janitorial services.

Nicole’s parents and two brothers live in Crosby, Texas, where she grew up.  Crosby has a well-established rodeo that Nicole has attended many times.  She was able to participate in a horse-riding camp and loved that experience.  In March, Nicole had the opportunity to show a goat during the Angelina County Reach for the Stars Youth Fair.

In her free time, Nicole enjoys hanging out with friends at the gym and visiting the campus

pets.  She loves time with her family, going out to eat, shopping, drawing, swimming, roller-skating and being outdoors. Nicole wants to become more independent and to one day sell her art, work with horses, and have pets.  Being the rodeo hero is a wonderful opportunity for Nicole to meet others, develop confidence and learn more about the community.
